The rehabilitation unit is a dedicated area responsible for rehabilitation efforts in all inpatient departments at Centralsjukhuset in Kristianstad (CSK). We participate in team and day care activities primarily within medicine and pediatric care. In addition, specialized outpatient care is provided in medicine, orthopedics, and surgery, receiving approximately 20,000 patient visits each year. We also conduct geriatric day rehabilitation for individuals with acquired neurological diseases and specialized home rehabilitation according to Early Supported Discharge (ESD). Within the rehabilitation unit, we are about 65 employees, including physiotherapists, occupational therapists, nursing assistants, administrators, and medical secretaries.

In the medicine team, we are 8 competent and engaged physiotherapists who staff cardiac wards, cardiac intensive care, infectious disease wards, lung wards, and nephrology-gastroenterology wards. In addition to ward work, we provide specialized outpatient care in cardiac, lung, gastro-nephrology, and cancer rehabilitation. We are a positive group that supports each other in daily work and have a high motivation to strive forward and develop. Within the rehabilitation unit, we are about 30 physiotherapists working closely together.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

We now welcome you as a physiotherapist to our wonderful medicine team!

The position is a combined role that includes work in two areas: outpatient care for diabetes, endocrinology, nephrology, and orthopedics, with a smaller portion of the job in inpatient care in the nephrology-gastroenterology ward.

In diabetes and endocrinology, you will work in a well-functioning team with doctors, nurses, dietitians, social workers, and secretaries. Primarily, you will meet patients diagnosed with type 1 diabetes who have musculoskeletal issues, but other endocrine diagnoses may also occur.

In nephrology outpatient care, you will meet patients with kidney failure who are monitored and tested according to standardized protocols before and after kidney transplantation. Part of this may also involve guided training to optimize physical performance before surgery or to guide the patient in suitable activities outside of healthcare.

In orthopedics outpatient care, you will work alongside two experienced physiotherapist colleagues. You will perform functional assessments and develop appropriate treatment strategies for patients with orthopedic conditions in the upper extremities. You will also conduct postoperative checks and initiate highly specialized rehabilitation after conservative and surgical treatment.

Outpatient work includes assessments and tests of physical function, providing individual exercise advice, leading individual and group training, and evaluating the patient's rehabilitation.

A smaller part of the job is in inpatient care in the nephrology-gastroenterology ward. In inpatient care, you will contribute your specific professional expertise in assessing and treating patients to create the best conditions for good and safe care with the patient in focus, together with other professionals in the team. You will participate in rounds and play a significant role in planning for the patient's discharge.

Working hours are primarily scheduled during daytime, Monday to Friday, with some weekend duties.

QUALIFICATIONS

We welcome you as a licensed physiotherapist or physical therapist with the authority to work within Swedish healthcare. Your language skills correspond to at least level C1 in Swedish according to the Council of Europe's scale.
